Passion for Public Health

Dr. Christine Hao (Dr. Christine) currently serves the underserved geriatric population through Sound Dental Care by providing minimally invasive dental care to nursing facilities in Washington. As a dentist with a specialization in Dental Public Health, she has a passion to make minimally invasive dentistry affordable and accessible for all.

Vision for Moby Dental

“We want to grow a network of minimally invasive care providers to empower patients to make informed health decisions while also ensuring all patients have access to affordable and proactive treatment for oral health issues.”

Educational Background

Originally from Vancouver, Dr. Christine earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine at The University of British Columbia. She went on to achieve a Master of Public Health with a specialty area in Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health at the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Christine invested additional time at the University of California, San Francisco completing her Dental Public Health residency program.

Cloud Watching

Beyond serving the greater good, Dr. Christine absolutely loves clouds. She is a passionate cloud watcher whose social media feed is filled with amazing pictures of clouds. Her dream destination and adventure would be a ride on the Alpine Coaster in Imst, Austria.

PASSION TO EMPOWER PATIENTS THROUGH EDUCATION ON MID OPTIONS

Sarah currently manages a team of MID providers at Sound Dental Care who serve the geriatric and special needs populations. By educating patients and their families that there are multiple ways to manage one's oral health has proven to encourage more widespread management of oral disease.

VISION FOR MOBY DENTAL

We want to empower patients and MID providers throughout the US and beyond. Accessing dental care needs to be accessible to all people. Utilizing MID allows for a more affordable and less invasive option when compared to conventional dentistry. Empowering patients by giving them options is the future of population oral health management.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Sarah started her career in dentistry as a dental assistant. She went on to study dental hygiene and denturism. Combining her two professions has led Sarah to new understandings regarding patient outcomes. As a hygienist, prevention is the focus. As a denturist, her focus is understanding when to restore patients' form and function while considering rehabilitation requirements. The balance between the two professions has led Sarah to advocate for MID.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

When not talking oral health, Sarah loves to spend time outdoors in the sunshine! Traveling, adventuring and being active with her family brings much joy to her heart. Digging in the dirt in her garden always brings her back to her Montana roots.
